A leader in the behavioral and education field for 30+ years, Elliot Sainer, as the Founder and CEO of Aspen Education Group, led the growth of the company from its inception in 1998 into what became the nation’s leading and largest therapeutic education company. Aspen assisted over 40,000 struggling young people and their families from every state in the country and over 30 foreign countries. He was recognized in 2007 as the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year for the Los Angeles area for consumer services, and was one of four finalists for the National Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007.

Since selling the company in 2006 to a Bain Capital portfolio company, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of four private companies in either the behavioral healthcare or education field, including Chairman of the Board of Discovery Behavioral Health, and Baymark, the nation’s largest opioid addiction company. He is an active early stage investor in growth oriented private companies primarily in the same sectors. He has also served in the past on both national association Boards, including the Board of the National Association of Behavioral Health Systems, as well as public company Boards. He is also the immediate past Board Chairman of Alzheimer’s Los Angeles and a Founding Board member and Treasurer of Ednovate, a charter high school organization affiliated with USC which operates five inner city high schools. He received his MBA from George Washington University and his BA from the University of Pittsburgh, and is a long time resident of South Pasadena, CA.
