Discovery Behavioral Health - Dedicated Professionals

Levels of Care

Discovery's Levels of Care

Every patient who enters our doors is unique and deserves care that is tailored to their individual needs. At Discovery Behavioral Health, we have various levels of care to meet patients where they’re at: residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programming, virtual programs and outpatient programs offering TMS and Ketamine for treatment resistant depression. After treatment, we offer one full year of monitoring and support through our Discovery365 program and alumni support programs to last a lifetime.

Residential Treatment Centers (RTC)

RTC is a structured level of care in beautiful neighborhood homes that are state-licensed and run by licensed healthcare professionals. This 24-hour care creates a highly focused environment, free from the stresses of life at home, school or work. Skills learned here can be applied upon return to the home or to a different level of care, such as partial hospitalization (PHP) or intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. Residents receive both group and individual therapy, as well as a range of group activities that educate and help the patient develop new coping skills to serve them for a lifetime. For those facilities that treat substance use, detox services are available at the residential and sub-acute level.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

PHP provides the intensity of a residential program while giving the patient an opportunity to return home in the evening. This type of program can serve as a step down to a less structured level of care or can serve as a treatment program in and of itself, depending on the needs of the individual. Patients attend programs anywhere from 6-8 hours per day for up to six days per week for an average of 4-6 weeks.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

With an even greater amount of flexibility, IOP treatment includes group and individual therapy for 3 hours per day, 3-5 days per week for an average of 3-6 weeks. Individual and group therapy is provided, and the program offers more structure than traditional outpatient therapy. This can serve as a step down from PHP or can serve as a starting point for those who require a higher level of care. Our outpatient centers are conveniently located in office buildings with easy access and parking.
