John Peloquin, PhD, MBA

John Peloquin, PhD, MBA

John Peloquin is a senior-level executive in the healthcare industry with more than 20 years of experience. In 2017, after holding several leadership positions with some of the largest and most respected organizations in behavioral health, Mr. Peloquin became Chief Executive Officer of Cliffside Malibu, a network of evidence-based addiction treatment centers located in Malibu, California.
Cliffside Malibu is currently developing a platform of facilities in preparation for explosive national growth. With multiple de novo locations under development and several acquisition prospects under review, Cliffside Malibu will offer an array of behavioral services across a network of treatment facilities establishing a full continuum of product offerings.

Prior to joining Cliffside Malibu, Mr. Peloquin was Division President for Acadia Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest providers of behavioral healthcare. Peloquin was responsible for overseeing Acadia’s national outpatient division responsible for servicing over 58,000 patients per day crossing 27 states. In this capacity, he lead the division to grow by almost double in size through acquisition, de novo, and organic growth methods resulting in becoming the national market leader of medication assisted treatment.
Prior to Acadia Healthcare, he served as President of CRC Health Group, one of the nation’s largest behavioral healthcare providers. He joined the firm in 2004 and was responsible for multiple services lines integrally involved with the growth of both residential and outpatient facilities. His responsibility included a portfolio of premium and low cost residential and outpatient facilities servicing substance abuse, mental health, eating disorder, and array of other ancillary services. A Bain Capital sponsored company, CRC was sold to Acadia Healthcare in 2015 for $1.3B. At that time, this deal constituted the largest organizational sale in the history of the behavioral healthcare field.

Prior to CRC Health Group, he held the position of Chief Administrative Officer/Director of Operations for Vital Imaging where he developed and executed organizational growth initiatives, including strategic partnerships and alliances to expand preventative medical treatment throughout the western United States.
Mr. Peloquin is married with three children and lives with his family in San Diego. He holds a PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences and a Masters of Business Admissions (MBA) with an emphasis in Finance.

James Bailey

James Bailey is a highly esteemed leader and visionary at the top of the healthcare field. Adept at complicated behavioral health program turnarounds, he quickly built a reputation for developing cultures that lead to successful programs.

From his multitude of turnarounds, James knows that employee engagement combined with clinical excellence results in the highest quality of patient care, leading to robust financial outcomes. Over the years of working with various equity firms, he has proven his ability to crack the code for success within this highly specialized industry, as the levers that lead to success in the behavioral healthcare field are frequently counter-intuitive to those in other industries.

With his peaceful and strong presence as a CEO, COO, and Regional Vice President, James specializes in righting foundering programs, most notably The Camp Recovery Center and Sober Living by the Sea within the Acadia network, Cottonwood Treatment Center, Benchmark Behavioral Health Systems Hawaii, and Recovery Ways. Other areas of expertise include program start-up, program due diligence and acquisition, increasing EBITDA by optimizing key performance indicators, and leading capital investment companies to success within the unique world of behavioral healthcare.

James holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from University of Minnesota, a Master of Education from Northern Arizona University, and a Bachelor of Psychology from Arizona State University. He is a gifted golfer, author, patent holder, avid jogger and paddle boarder, and dedicated husband and father.

Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper

W. Bradley Cooper joins Center for Discovery as Chief Financial Officer bringing 34 years of senior financial leadership with various service, manufacturing and distribution companies in rapid-growth, turn-around and startup levels. He has broad financial management experience including successful private equity partnerships together with leveraged and asset based financing, industry consolidation, and mergers and acquisitions. Brad has developed and directed financial strategies including working closely with boards, equity shareholders, lenders and transaction process management that drives solid enterprise value through process and business improvements. As a partner with management, he works closely with operations, including IT, building and improving finance and accounting teams, systems and processes for efficiency, accuracy and information.

Brad’s work experience includes most recently as CFO with FFF Enterprises, Inc., the largest U.S. distributor of plasma products, vaccines and other specialty and biopharmaceuticals with a direct-to-patient specialty pharmacy subsidiary ($1.9B revenue.) He also served as CFO with MNX Global Logistics, a private equity backed $80M revenue asset light provider of critical and security sensitive global transportation and logistics services in express, supply chain management and freight services with seven U.S. and eleven international locations. Prior to MNX, Brad was CFO, Executive VP of Finance, and Board Member of BI Incorporated, a private equity sponsored leading U.S. provider of electronic monitoring, community based reentry and supervision services and Department of Homeland Security intensive supervision services. He served as VP, National Patient Business Services and also as regional VP, Financial Operations, with American Medical Response, then a $1B national Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider with 250 operations in 38 states and the largest provider of such services with over 20,000 employees,. Brad began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young.

Brad is a CPA (active) and resides in Orange County, CA with his wife and family where he enjoys spending time with his five children and two grandchildren. He loves being active including skiing, boating, and community involvement. He earned his Bachelor of Science, Accounting from Brigham Young University.

Jerry Rhodes

Jerry most recently was the CEO of CRC Health, one of the nation’s largest providers of Behavioral Healthcare. CRC was a Bain Capital sponsored company and was recently sold to Acadia Healthcare for $1.3B. This deal was constituted one of the largest ever in behavioral healthcare. Jerry joined CRC Health Group in 2003 and was instrumental in developing it into the nation’s largest provider of behavioral treatment services, with over 100 facilities nationwide and nearly $500m in revenue. CRC operated a broad array of programs across the behavioral healthcare spectrum, from acute psychiatric hospitals to outpatient programs in 32 states. Jerry held a number of senior operating roles at CRC and was appointed COO in 2010. Prior to joining CRC, he was the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Comprehensive Addictions Programs Inc. (CAPs). CAPs was a privately held company backed by several venture capital investors that, under Rhodes’ leadership, became a national, full-service addiction treatment provider of both residential and opiate treatment. The company was acquired by CRC in February 2003. Before founding CAPS, Jerry had a number of roles focused on development in the long-term care field. Rhodes was the Director of Development for Beverly Enterprises, the nation’s largest publicly held nursing home company. Prior to his position at Beverly, he held several business development roles at Manor Care Inc.

He is currently the Chairman of Baymark Healthcare and is also on the Board of Directors of Springstone Hospitals, Dental Care Alliance, and recently, the board of National Spine. He is a former Board member of the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Nyswander Dole (Dr. Marie) award for his work in medication-assisted treatment from the American Association of Opiate Treatment Programs.

Randy Davis, PhD, is presently the President of RCD Consulting, a behavioral health solutions consulting practice. Engagements have included national Behavioral Health Organizations , national companies specializing in treatment of Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse, and general mental heath disorders, as well as various Private Equity Companies and Search Funds.

Prior to retirement in early 2015, Dr Davis was President of Beacon Health Strategies, Western Region (BCBHM), a managed behavioral health care organization, which is part of the Beacon family of companies, including Beacon Health Strategies, Psychcare, Autism Services Group, and Beacon UK. Dr. Davis also served as Chief Executive Officer of College Health IPA, a behavioral health Independent Practice Association of more than 3500 clinicians and Comprehensive Behavioral Health Management, a Regional Managed Behavioral Health Organization.

In 1990, Dr. Davis founded BCHBM’s predecessor company, Comprehensive Behavioral Health Management, and College Health IPA in 1990, where he developed an innovative regional managed behavioral health company that contracted with national health insurers to execute a local strategy in California for delivering and managing mental health and substance use services on behalf of 3 million members.

In 2010 Dr. Davis sold CBHM to Beacon Health Strategies and remained part of their Sr Leadership Team In the role of President of Beacon’s Western Region. Dr. Davis was responsible for the development and management of Beacon’s western region business as well as part of Beacon’s Corporate Leadership Team. A licensed psychologist, Dr. Davis was the president of a single specialty, multi-disciplinary behavioral health group from 1977 until 1997. He also consulted on the development and maintenance of a behavioral health delivery system serving a Medicaid population in Puerto Rico. Dr. Davis has had extensive experience in public speaking on mental health issues, including hosting a Los Angeles-based radio program for many years. Currently Dr. Davis is a Trustee for the Institute for Shipboard Education which operates the Semester at Sea as well as a board member of the Argyros School of Business at Chapman University, and a Board Member at the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation.

A leader in the behavioral health and education field for over 30 years, Sainer, as the Founder and CEO of Aspen Education Group, led the growth of the company from its inception in 1998 into what became the nation’s leading and largest therapeutic education company. He was recognized in 2007 as the Enterpreneur of the Year for the Los Angeles area for consumer services, and was one of four finalists for the National Enterpreneur of the Year Award also in 2007.
Since selling Aspen in 2006 to a Bain Capital owned company, he continues to serve on Boards of Directors and is an active investor in private growth oriented early stage companies in the education and health care fields. He is also the immediate past Chairman of the Board for the Alzheimers Association of Greater Los Angeles area, Board member (and Treasurer) of Ednovate, a USC affiliated Charter School company in Los Angeles and active in other non profit activities.

Rachel Wood, PhD

Dr. Rachel Wood is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Executive Director of Admissions and Business Relations at Center For Discovery. Rachel has served as Primary Therapist, Clinical Advisor to the Admissions Department and, most recently, Director of Admissions. Dr. Wood has been working in the mental health field for over 20 years and has experience in all levels of care including outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential and inpatient hospitalization. She earned her Masters of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco. Rachel also earned a clinical and research placement at Children’s Hospital Oakland where she spent years working with children and adolescents with trauma and gaining a greater understanding of the relationship between the brain and behavior.

Dr. Jennifer Henretty, PhD, CEDS

Dr. Jen Henretty graduated summa cum laude with her BA from Ohio Wesleyan University before going on to earn her MS and PhD from the University of Memphis. She has been a leader in the eating disorder industry for over 15 years and has authored multiple research papers, spoken at local, national and international conferences and has appeared on multiple television and radio shows as an eating disorder specialist.

Dr. Henretty is also a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and serves as the president of the Los Angeles Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP); is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED); and has practiced as an eating disorder therapist, Program Director, and the Director of Outcomes & Research for Center for Discovery.
