As a senior healthcare executive, Monika Valentine drives innovation and collaboration in working directly with payors, physicians, nurse practitioners and others who are vital to connecting patients with access to care and modernizing delivery of services at Discovery facilities. Monika leans on her diverse national experience to conceptualize and implement initiatives that align ethical performance with regulatory compliance while supporting the growth we are experiencing at Discovery.
Monika is responsible for oversight of several divisions and working with departments to set ambitious and attainable goals. Among other responsibilities, she also recruits and retains provider/prescribers and develops key strategies for medical network development. Fundamental to Monika’s role is the understanding and sharing of how Discovery is leveraging data and technology innovations to set a new standard of measurement-based behavioral health care. A natural advisor, Monika also mentors younger Discovery leaders. Prior to her current position, Monika served as president of the Psychiatric & Professional Services division as well as Discovery Medical Services.
Before joining Discovery, Monika was director of regional and workers’ compensation consulting at The Redwoods Group/A Crum Forster Company in North Carolina; executive director/CEO of OccMed Colorado; executive director/CEO at OCCOLV, LLC, in Colorado; and director of occupational medicine and specialty practices at HealthOne Clinic Services, LLC, also in Colorado.
Monika has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA with post-graduate certifications from Villanova, Vanderbilt and Cornell University. She also was named among the “Top 50 Women Business Leaders of Florida” by Women We Admire.
