Timothy brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience across Fortune 5 companies and innovative startups. He began his career by expanding access to quality home care for pediatrics and adults, building reputable nurse staffing practices from the ground up with new offices in San Diego and Chicago. That early work instilled a lasting commitment to delivering care where it’s needed most, while building scalable, trusted patient-centered operations that families and providers could rely on.

He advanced into leadership roles with UnitedHealth Group and Optum, where he drove commercial growth and helped bring innovative solutions to scale. He also played a key role in launching and scaling a groundbreaking diabetes prevention solution from inception to becoming the market leader until its acquisition. Most recently, Mr. Johnson served on the executive leadership team at Big Health, a pioneering digital therapeutics company, where he contributed to delivering market-leading outcomes in mental health through evidence-based, software-driven care solutions, which are now FDA cleared. His experience bridges the discipline and reach of enterprise healthcare with the agility and innovation of digital health startups.

At Discovery Behavioral Health, Mr. Johnson leads the admissions, clinical outreach and sales, marketing, and strategic partnership teams, helping expand access to behavioral healthcare across the full continuum of services—including residential, outpatient, and telehealth programs for mental health, eating disorders, and substance use disorders. DBH is a recognized leader in measurement-based care, validated by leading academic partners, and powered by Discovery365™, its AI-enabled platform that ensures long-term recovery becomes the rule, not the exception.

Mr. Johnson holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from Indiana University and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
