As a former board member of both the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers and the National Association of Behavioral Health, he played a key role in advancing national conversations and policy reforms that have increased accessibility to high-quality care.

Drawing on his own recovery experience, Dr. Britton channels personal insights into guiding organizations toward compassionate, evidence-based practices, always striving to elevate healthcare institutions and broaden the availability of superior care. He  launched his professional path in the mid-1990s, working within behavioral health to support individuals facing mental illness, substance use challenges, and developmental disabilities.

He brings more than two decades of leadership experience: He served as CEO at three major national behavioral healthcare organizations and as division president for a leading addiction treatment provider.

Dr. Britton provides industry thought leadership on subjects from industry developments to innovations in care quality, underscoring his dedication to furthering the field of behavioral health, including areas such as eating disorders, addiction, and mental health treatment. He also has advised the American Society of Addiction Medicine during updates to addiction treatment standards. He also holds two master’s degrees and a doctorate in Public Health, with a focus on executive leadership and strategy.
