  • Deandra Christianson, MA, LCPCChief Operating Officer

    Deandra Christianson’s leadership of our eating disorder division is grounded in measurement-based care and informed by her passion for awareness, advocacy and access to treatment.

    The Center for Discovery – a division of Discovery Behavioral Health – maintains an unrivaled national reputation for innovation and excellence for treating eating disorders and instilling hope in patients and their families for lasting recovery. Deandra drives that success with highly qualified and caring teams working to develop tailored treatment plans based on years of patient experiences.

    Throughout her professional life, Deandra has worked with individuals with eating disorders, self- injurious behaviors, mood disorders, and other co-occurring issues in both residential and outpatient treatment settings.

    Prior to being named president, Deandra held both clinical and administrative positions at Center for Discovery from 2013 to 2021. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology including a specialization in counseling specialization with a focus on the treatment of children and adolescents.

  • Matthew Ruble, MDChief Medical Officer

    Dr. Matthew Ruble is advancing behavioral health care by harnessing the power – and data – from tens of thousands of patient experiences to drive innovation in treatment and ultimately improve outcomes and lives.

    As chief medical officer, Dr. Ruble is dedicated to education/training, research and collaboration among payers and providers. His collaboration with Mass General Brigham led to external, academic validation of Discovery’s clinical outcomes and national leadership in setting a new standard for measurement-based care. 

     Dr. Ruble works to elevate the needs of patients, providers and payers by decreasing barriers to care and prioritizing value while ensuring clinical quality.

     Prior to joining Discovery, he served as national medical director at Human and was part of the team that reviewed and advised Humana leadership on all behavioral health technology/innovations for potential investment/acquisition and implementation. 

     A former faculty member of Harvard Medical School for nearly 20 years, Dr. Ruble also served as the Director of Behavioral Health and the Associate Training Director for the Adult Psychiatry residency training program at the Cambridge Health Alliance.

     Dr. Ruble earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. He completed an Infectious Disease research Fellowship at Brown University’s School of Medicine before completing his MD at the Carver School of Medicine at the University of Iowa. He then attended Harvard Medical School to intern at the Department of Medicine and to complete his residency at the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Ruble became Chief Resident of Psychopharmacology at Cambridge Health Alliance. He then completed his Fellowship in Medical Education at the Academy of Harvard Medical School.

  • Marissa Jones, MS,LPC,CEDS-CPresident, Eating Disorder and Mental Health Divisions
    Marissa Jones graduated from The University of Oklahoma majoring in psychology with a minor in sociology/criminology. Marissa has had an interest in the counseling field since her teen years eager to help young people with identity development, and to help individuals learn their own value in the world. Marissa continued on to pursue two graduate degrees, one in Counseling from Oklahoma State University, and a Second Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Oklahoma State University.
    Marissa has worked in the acute/residential setting for eating disorder treatment since 2012 now becoming a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and supervisor relentlessly pursuing higher education and professional development to provide quality care to her clients. In addition, Marissa has extensive training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy, an evidenced based modality for the treatment of eating disorders and depression, from the IPT Institute. Marissa Joined the Discovery team in 2017 as the Program Director of the Orlando residential program, and quickly advanced to the Regional Director of Operations. Marissa is a licensed professional counselor in Virginia, Georgia, and Florida overseeing the residential and outpatient locations in the MidAtlantic and Southeast region.

  • Chris DiamondSenior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions

    Chris Diamond is instrumental in leading Discovery’s growth as it emerges as a national leader in measurement-based care, with demand intensifying for behavioral health service providers that can challenge typical rates of relapse through data-informed care and innovation. 

    Chris joined Discovery to develop and launch the Professional Psychiatric Services (PPS) division focused on interventional psychiatry including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) services. As Division President he expanded Discovery’s psychiatric services and TMS footprint to over 20 locations in 5 states while growing the organization’s telehealth services. His PPS work included growth through De novo start-up and acquisition. In 2022 Chris was appointed to lead DBH Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions.

     A veteran of the behavioral healthcare industry, Chris has nearly 35 years of experience in direct care, clinical care and facility leadership. Prior to joining Discovery, he has served as CEO at facilities in Arizona, California, and Texas. His work includes 13 years with Universal Health Services and six years with PSI/Acadia.  He also helped grow Meadows Behavioral Healthcare through facility leadership, division strategy and acquisition between 2013 and 2020, holding positions as CEO of Remuda Ranch, President and CEO of Sunspire Health and MBH Chief Development Officer. 

    Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Chris received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and completed graduate school coursework in education psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia.

  • Edye Bauer, Esq.General Counsel

    Edye Bauer joined Discovery in 2018 as general counsel, where she enjoys developing innovative solutions, solving problems and making a difference in people’s lives. Providing creative legal and strategic leadership at Discovery, Edye’s role includes, but is not limited to, advising on complex matters, corporate acquisitions, regulatory issues, risk management, insurance issues, compliance, licensing and employee issues.

    Bringing over 20 years of legal experience to Discovery, Edye has significant partner-level experience at top law firms and in-house counsel experience at privately-held companies. Prior to joining the leadership team at Discovery, Edye was general counsel for a privately-held behavioral health company, focused on treating substance use disorders and a broad range of mental health conditions. Edye is a graduate of Stanford Law School and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with bachelor degrees in international relations and East Asian area studies.

    A member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, Edye is proud of her Hispanic heritage. She believes in leveraging equity and inclusion practices that attract and develop a diverse workforce and amplify the voices of the underserved and underrepresented. After serving for several years as a board member of Women of Color in Law, Inc., a San Diego-based organization focused on helping people of color, especially women, succeed in the legal field, Edye recently moved to an advisory role.

    Edye aspires to be the calm in the storm, solving challenges for the company so that staff and clinicians can focus on providing the best quality care to patients. In her spare time, Edye enjoys spending time with her family and her pets.

  • Corey Procuniar, SHRM-CPSenior Vice President of Human Resources

    Corey Procuniar is responsible for recruiting, building and training the Discovery team that is helping patients find hope in lifelong recovery.  In his role, Corey is responsible for recruiting, orientation, compliance, and onboarding, and oversees all human resource functions for our nearly 3,000 employees across 12 states.

    As Discovery expands, Corey’s vast experience as a human resources leader in healthcare companies is helping to drive improvements in HR-related initiatives, including communication, employee benefits program and a comprehensive new onboarding to welcome new employees and share the spectrum of life-saving services offered by Discovery.

    Prior to joining Discovery, Corey was head of human resources for Cambridge Healthcare Services in Orange County, California. He holds a B.A. degree in pre-med, chemistry, from Brigham Young University.

  • Celeste N. Jupinko, Ph.D.Senior Vice President of Clinical Services & Quality Management (CSQM) & Compliance Officer 

    Dr. Jupinko drives the quality of care and clinical services for Discovery, which is setting new industry standards for measurement-based care. Under her leadership, Dr. Jupinko sets standards for elevating clinical quality, while maintaining regulatory compliance, policy adherence and developing and implementing risk management protocols.

    Her role at Discovery prioritizes quality management, compliance monitoring, performance improvement and maintaining a culture of safety. Her team provides best practice guidance and updates from the field, promotes clinical training and staff development, incorporates measurement-based care, develops policies and procedures, and upholds accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

    With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Jupinko has lent her talents in both clinical and operations roles for private and non-profit companies. Before joining Discovery Behavioral Health, Dr. Jupinko was vice president of clinical services for Acadia Healthcare’s national outpatient division and previously held the same role for CRC Health Group.

    Dr. Jupinko earned her doctorate degree from the University of Arizona and her master’s degree from Duquesne University. When she is not developing best practice guidelines that ensure an optimal patient experience, she can be found spending quality time with her family, reading, working out and doting on her beloved dogs.
